Description
The Sustainability Data Project Manager will lead and execute data collection initiatives for the sustainability team, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and timely data delivery. This role combines project management with hands-on data work, requiring expertise in harmonizing data from diverse systems and formats. The ideal candidate will be adept at SQL (with experience in SEED or similar environments), data automation, and project scheduling, and will drive both process and technical improvements to support ESG and sustainability reporting.
Responsibilities:
Project manage the end-to-end data collection process for sustainability/ESG initiatives, including schedule creation, task assignment, and progress tracking.
Personally conduct data collection, including extracting, cleaning, and harmonizing data from multiple internal and external systems.
Develop and maintain automated data pipelines and workflows using SQL, APIs, and relevant tools to streamline data ingestion, transformation, and validation.
Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and completeness across all sustainability datasets.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, operations, finance, technology, and sustainability—across Latin America, North America, and Europe to define data requirements and resolve data quality issues.
Create dashboards and reports (using Tableau, Power BI, or Excel) to support sustainability reporting and decision-making.
Document data processes and maintain clear records for auditability and reproducibility.
Serve as the primary point of contact for technical data issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Sustainability, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in data analysis, automation, or project management in complex environments.
Excellent communication skills in English (B2+ or higher) and ability to collaborate across functions and geographies.
Advanced proficiency in SQL (including joins, stored procedures, and query optimization); experience with SEED or similar data environments preferred.
Experience with data harmonization, QA/QC, and reporting processes.
Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Excel.
Strong organizational and project management skills; proven ability to create schedules and keep teams on track.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders across multiple lines of business and geographies, including Latin America, North America, and Europe.
Skills:
Project Management certification (e.g., PMP®, PRINCE2® Practitioner, or equivalent).
Agile certifications such as CSM or PMI-ACP®
Experience with sustainability/ESG data and reporting is a plus.
Experience with Python for automation (Pandas, ETL scripting).
Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and APIs.
Knowledge of data governance and documentation best practices.
